Since its founding in 1895, Chi Omega has been committed to philanthropic efforts and service to others. In the late 1990s, the fraternity wished to establish a national philanthropy and in 2002, the bond between Chi Omega and the Make-A-Wish Foundation was formed. The Make-A-Wish foundation is now close to the hearts of all Chi Omegas. Since the alliance was formed, Chi Omega has raised over 19 million dollars, given 1,000,000 volunteer hours, and funded thousands of wish grants for children with life-threatening illnesses. Chi Omega believes that the power of a wish can change the course of a child’s life. Wishes provide hope, and give Make-A-Wish kids a new lease on life to continue fighting.
