WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
History began here at the University of Arkansas in 1895 with our very own Psi Chapter, when our five founders came together to form the sisterhood we know today as Chi Omega! Jean Vincenheller, Ina May Boles, Jobelle Holcombe, and Alice Cary Simonds with the help of dentist, Dr. Charles Richardson, established the secrets, symbolism, and ritual that now bring together over 427,000 women from over 182 collegiate chapters!
Chi Omega prides itself on providing its members with unique experiences and opportunities in leadership, scholarship, service, and lifelong friendships. We strive to keep our purposes at the center of all that we do, providing each sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities, and social enrichment.
MORE THAN LETTERS, A LEGACY
Here at Psi, it's more than the letters that we wear on our chest that tie us together. It's the people who have come before us and the people who will come after, who will all share the sisterhood we hold so close to our hearts. Our legacy goes far behind the graduation stage, but it stretches to the memories, bridesmaids, reunions and sisters we will have for the rest of our lives!
