Make-A-Wish!

Chi Omega chapters all across the country are tied together by our philanthropy: the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980, and grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, believing that wishes make life better for kids with these illnesses. This simple but powerful belief inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish and drives everything they do. If you were to ask any member of Chi Omega what the heart of our organization is, there is no doubt that the answer would be the same: Make-A-Wish.  As a chapter we have been so fortunate to play a small part of creating these unforgettable moments for children and their families.

Nationally, Chi Omega has donated over $40 million and volunteered more than 1.7 million hours since our partnership was established in 2002. Our chapter alone has raised over $300,000 for Make-A-Wish Mid-South and our members have volunteered over 20,000 hours.

This impact wouldn't be possible without our donors, and we cannot thank you enough for your support. The life-changing experience that comes with a wish is truly indescribable, and we feel blessed to be apart of the love, hope, and excitement that Make-A-Wish brings to children and families across America.

If you would like to join us in continuing to support and believe in the mission of Make-A-Wish, please consider making a donation using the link below.

FROM OUR PHILANTHROPY DIRECTOR

"Since 2002, Chi Omega has proudly partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In the past twenty-four years, Chi Omega has raised over 40 million dollars and has donated over 1.7 million hours of service. Sending children to meet their favorite celebrity, on a Disney Cruise, and to New York for unforgettable Broadway experiences is just a glimpse into the magic that we provide. Today, the average cost of a wish in Arkansas is $8,000 and rising. This amount covers the cost of their wish, which can include almost anything within his or her imagination. Each semester, our members work with our community to create life-changing wishes for children in the Northwest Arkansas area. Each year as a chapter we host two main philanthropy events, this spring semester being “Scoops at Psi." Throughout the entire semester, we organize percentage days with local businesses, and dedicate a week to fundraising money called “Wish Week." This past fall, we raised over eighty thousand dollars!  If you were to ask any member of Chi Omega about our philanthropy, I have no doubt that the answer would be the same: Make-A-Wish is the heart of Chi Omega. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses. A wish is an intangible gift that provides the child and his or her family with hope, courage, and strength for the future. As a chapter we have been so fortunate to create these unforgettable moments for children and their families and we cannot wait to continue to support and fundraise for our incredible philanthropy, Make-A-Wish Mid-South."

THE JOY OF A WISH!

At Psi, one of the most meaningful parts of our sisterhood is the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families within the Northwest Arkansas community. Through our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Make-A-Wish Mid-South, we are honored to help bring hope, joy, and unforgettable memories to children facing critical illnesses all right here at 940 West Maple.

Every event, every donation, and every hour spent planning goes toward something far greater than ourselves: the chance to bring a little more magic into a child’s life. These wishes create moments of happiness and hope for entire families, reminding us of the lasting impact that even the smallest acts of kindness can have.

What makes this cause especially meaningful to our chapter is the personal connection we are able to build with the wish children and their families. Seeing the direct impact of our efforts reminds us that philanthropy is more than fundraising, but about creating joy, fostering community, and showing others that they are deeply cared for and supported.

At Psi, we are incredibly grateful to play a small role in making these dreams come true. Pictured below is a glimpse into some of the wish grants and memories that have touched our chapter and continue to inspire our sisterhood each year.
